Vocal Music Teacher

Mountain Lake High School has 250 students in grades 7-12 and is located in southwest Minnesota on the Hwy 60 corridor between Mankato and Worthington.  We are seeking a qualified person to join our Music department. 

Position Purpose
Mountain Lake High School is seeking a Vocal Music Teacher for grades 6-12.  

Essential Functions

  • Develops and administers vocal music program for grades 6-12 including 6th grade general music, Junior High Choir, and Senior High Choir.
  • Promotes a classroom environment that is safe and conducive to student learning.
  • Conducts ongoing assessment of student musical learning and progress, and modifies instructional methods to fit individual student’s needs, including students with special needs; conducts individual and small group instruction through lessons.
  • Utilizes repertoire of all types of music literature, as appropriate
  • Plans and directs students in performances outside the classroom
  • Organizes and maintains a system for accurate and complete record-keeping, grading, and reporting for all student activities, achievement and attendance.
