Job Summary
Perpich Arts High School is seeking a skilled musician and instructor with a focus in music recording and production techniques. The incumbent will design and teach a curriculum that includes basic and advanced audio, Musical Instrument Digital Interface (MIDI) recording techniques, and music production techniques using Logic Pro and Ableton Live applications. Maintain accurate daily attendance records, regularly complete student assessments and enter grades using Infinite Campus. Participate in department and other team meetings. Notify the IT department of technology issues in the recording/lab studio; set-up and tear-down equipment as needed for use by students/and/or as appropriate to needs of event calendaring. Comply with the Minnesota Code of Ethics for Teachers. Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
• Valid Minnesota teaching license in Instrument (Band/Orchestra) and Classroom Music or eligible for a Tier 2 license.
• Experience using and teaching Logic Pro and Ableton Live.
• Classroom management and organization skills.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Positive interpersonal skills and ability to relate well to students, parents, staff from diverse backgrounds.
• Experience and proficiency in the implementation of current best practices and strategies in instruction and learning.
• Knowledge of relevant learning technology and proficient in its use (i.e. Smart board technology, MS Office Suite, Google applications, spreadsheets).
Preferred Qualifications
• Master of Arts in Music or related field.
• Music production and recording experience.
• Innovative thinker, knowledge of current trends of music practices.
Additional Requirements
Successful candidate must pass reference checks and criminal history check.
Must possess and maintain a valid MN Driver's License.
