Position: Minds in the Middle Targeted Services Coordinator – Middle School

Location:  Two Rivers High School

Dates and Hours:  Up to 50 hours of planning and coordination, plus on-site supervision during summer session: July 8 -August 1 (M-Th); 7:30 AM – 12:30 PM

Salary Range:  $37.00 per hour

Job Summary:   Coordinate the district wide summer Minds in the Middle Targeted Services program, located at Two Rivers High School

Essential Functions:

  • Recruit and recommend teachers and paraprofessionals for the program.
  • Schedule program, staff, and students. 
  • Notify teachers of program criteria.
  • Coordinate student selection and registration.
  • Communicate with families regarding the program.
  • Arrange for food.
  • Reserve rooms with Community Education and coordinate other facility needs as appropriate.
  • Coordinate volunteers.
  • Ensure completion of Continual Learning Plans (CLPs).
  • Manage student behavior and discipline.
  • Monitor and coach teachers and paraprofessionals in delivering the program.
  • Organize and coordinate transportation.
  • Organize and coordinate technology.
  • Set and coordinate the budget.
  • Ensure students are counted and paperwork is submitted to the appropriate departments.
  • Work with building principals to hire staff and ensure smooth programming and services. 

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Preferred:

  • Current license in education (teacher, school social worker, psychologist, etc.).
  • Knowledge of the district curriculum.
  • Knowledge of effective remediation programs.
  • Knowledge of Minnesota’s laws and guidelines governing Targeted Services.
