Media Paraeducator/Building Paraprofessional
Location: Sartell Middle School
Hours: 7.5 hrs/day
Contract Days: Student School Days
Positions start:Â 1/2/25
POSITION PURPOSE:
The media paraeducator/building paraprofessional is responsible for providing students and staff with library books, media material while keeping an inventory of all collections in the building and for general supervision and special education paraprofessional duties as needed.
JOB DUTIES:
1. Assists Instructional Technology Specialist in oversight of the Media Center and classroom libraries. This includes, but is not limited to; Checking material in/out for staff and students, returning books to shelves, inventory library materials and ordering materials as assigned. Monitors student behavior in the media center. Assist students in locating items as needed.
2. Order library books and material; Inventory and shelve.
3. Schedule Book-Fairs and retain volunteers to staff it.
4. Responsible for general student supervision throughout the day. This includes, but is not limited to areas such as hallways, breakfast, bus loading/unloading zones, lunch, outdoor recess, specialist areas and the media center.
5. Serve as a special education paraprofessional building wide on an as needed basis.Â

QUALIFICATIONS:
1. High School diplomaÂ
2. Must be able to lift, pull, or move a minimum of 50 pounds.
3. Accepts direction from supervising teacher(s) and is willing to work as a team.Â
4. Experience with literacy and research of elementary-aged students.

SALARY:
Based on the MSEA Master Agreement salary schedule Range IV, Step 1Â at $17.77/hr
