Media education assistantÂ
7.0 hours per day, which includes 6.5 hours of paid work time and 30 minutes of unpaid lunch time
$21.92 per hour based on the Class 2 EA salary schedule of the current Collective Bargaining Agreement for Education Assistants
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist library media specialist with general duties in support of media goals as time allows.
- Assist with district projects related to media.
- Provide media support in classroom instruction and supervision.
- Manage the checkout desk.
- Insure procedures are in place and followed.
- Provide full range of Destiny library catalog support including inventory, fine processing, notices, creating categories, downloading pictures and graphics, sound selections and all other functions in Destiny.
- Provide instruction, maintenance, and support of school technology including SMART boards and LCD projectors.
- Process digital photos and videos as needed.
- Repair, label, clean and shelve books.
- Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience with word processing, spreadsheet, and communications applications (Google Apps experience preferred)
- Experience with library automation systems (Follett’s Destiny library and textbook management system preferred)
- Familiar with Internet services in a Web 2.0 environment. (Manage online accounts and passwords, input and save data in web-based forms, upload and download media is a variety of formats)
- Experience with full suite of Microsoft Office products
- Experience in library management system, preferably Destiny
- Experience or training in media technologies
- Understanding of current district and building educational policies and best practices
- Attention to detail
- Reliable and dependable
- Excellent keyboarding skills
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Collaboration on a team
- Enthusiasm for learning new things
- Some light lifting required
