Edina Public Schools currently has two openings for a 9-month Media Assistant – Classification E.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Completes general media center duties (e.g. schedules access to media materials and district equipment, prepares and maintains library resources, processes materials for circulation and collection, performs minor repairs to damaged materials).Â
- Provides technical, clerical, and project assistance to students and employees.Â
- Makes students, employees, and visitors welcome in the media center.Â
- Assists students, employees, and visitors with general inquiries and refers questions to the appropriate person when needed.Â
- Answers telephones, reviews voicemail messages and correspondence, and responds appropriately.Â
- Monitors and maintains accurate records, databases, and other documents.Â
- Provides support to technical systems and applications.Â
- Assists the Media Specialist in providing assistance with technology and materials in the media center.Â
- Provides routine technological, audio-visual, and media material repair.Â
- Maintains resources for purchasing for students and employees.Â
- Other duties as assigned.Â

District-Wide (Elementary Buildings)
DAILY SCHEDULE:Â
7:30am – 3:30pm, Monday – Friday
DAYS PER YEAR:
195 days (9 months)
RATE OF PAY:
Pursuant to the Edina Professional Association of Support Staff (EPASS) Contract, this position has a starting hourly rate of $22.09.

QUALIFICATIONS:
– High school diploma or equivalent
– Job-related training.
– One year of experience in a related field.
– Intermediate computer skills.Â
– Must have the ability to use Microsoft Office products.
– Knowledge of a library automation system.
– Interest in working in a school district environment.Â
– Knowledge of district and school policies and procedures.Â
– Detail-oriented with proven ability to be consistently accurate.
– Excellent organizational and time management skills.Â
– Strong communication and collaboration skills.Â
– Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
