The Media and Technology Coordinator provides leadership and expertise in the integration of media, library resources, and technology into instructional practices district-wide. Acts as a liaison between central departments, school sites, technology teams, principals, teachers, community members, and parents regarding library policies and media resources. This role ensures compliance with state and federal regulations, facilitates professional development, manages digital and print collections, and supports equitable access to instructional and literacy resources.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Coordinate, develop, and maintain media programs that meet district, state, and national standards, while planning and coordinating technology initiatives across K-12 schools.
- Provide leadership for district-wide media services and the integration of a full range of media technologies into classroom instruction by collaborating with school librarians, instructional and technology coordinators, tech teams, and teachers to align media and technology with curriculum goals and standards.
- Partner with technology teams, vendors, and school staff to manage timelines, resources, communication, and training.
- Provide leadership in assessing media collections and services (e.g., leads the evaluation, development, and management of media collections, including selection, organization, maintenance, and weeding).
- Serve as a leader in school improvement initiatives related to technology and information literacy.
- Design and deliver professional development on media literacy, information literacy, digital citizenship, and instructional improvement, supporting library media specialists, instructional and technology staff, ESC staff, and other stakeholders in accessing and utilizing information resources effectively.
- Provides guidance and technical support for classroom technologies and enhancements.
- Establish and maintain a positive working relationship between school sites and the central office.
- Utilize project management strategies to implement new technology and enhancements.
- Oversee contracted audio/video repair services and district compliance with federal Children’s Internet Protection Act (CIPA) filtering requirements.
- Assist in managing district-wide instructional and technology resources and support the development and maintenance of inventory systems for these resources.
- Advocate for equitable access to technology and library resources for all students.
- Performs other tasks and duties as assigned.

- Expertise in K-12 instructional technology.

- Ability to train, speak and facilitate meetings in large and small group venues; plan, design and deliver training.
- Work in collaboration with others and function in team settings, with the ability to take work direction from various sources. Â
- Ability to be self-directed / work independently assessing and analyzing data with the ability to conclude, present findings, and make recommendations. Â
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT:
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; talk; and hear.
- The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; reach with hands and arms; and lift and/or move up to 10 pounds.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close and the ability to adjust focus.
QUALIFICATIONS:Â Â
- Prefer five years media background in an educational environment. Â
- Experience and background in technology curriculum integration. Â
- Requires Media Specialist License. Â
Salary:  $108,101 to $129,722 DOQ, plus excellent benefits package, including up to 3% annual performance pay. View additional terms and benefits here.Â
