  • Under the general supervision of the School Principal, to develop students' skills and competence in basic and complex mathematical principles, equations, formulas, and calculations, as well as an understanding of the application of mathematics in the solution of practical problems.
  • Essential Performance Responsibilities:
  • Develop and administer a comprehensive mathematics curriculum aligned with school district goals and objectives.
  • Foster a safe and inclusive classroom environment conducive to individualized and small group instruction, promoting student engagement and learning.
  • Create engaging lesson plans and instructional materials that cater to diverse learning styles, challenging students to think critically and apply mathematical concepts to real-world problems.
  • Design and implement learning activities that demonstrate the practical application of mathematics in everyday life and problem-solving scenarios.
  • Conduct ongoing assessments to evaluate student learning and progress, adjusting instructional methods as necessary to meet individual student needs, including those with special requirements.
  • Stay abreast of district and state standardized tests, adapting curriculum and teaching strategies to optimize student achievement.
  • Continuously seek professional development opportunities through seminars, workshops, and research to stay informed about current educational trends and best practices.
  • Maintain accurate records of student activities, achievement, and attendance in compliance with district procedures and legal requirements.
  • Foster effective communication and collaboration with students, parents, and colleagues, encouraging parental involvement in student education.
  • Uphold school and district policies regarding student conduct, fostering a positive and productive learning atmosphere within the classroom.
  • Collaborate with fellow staff members, particularly within the same grade level, participating actively in faculty meetings and committees.
  • Select appropriate instructional resources, including books, aids, and equipment, and ensure the maintenance of inventory records.
