Overview: Surad School is seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Math Teacher to join our educational team. At Surad, we pride ourselves on delivering a mastery-level-based curriculum that allows students to learn at their own pace while ensuring they achieve a deep understanding of mathematical concepts. The ideal candidate will be committed to fostering a student-centered environment where individualized learning is key to student success.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Mastery-Based Curriculum Delivery:

    • Implement the school’s mastery-based math curriculum, focusing on ensuring that each student reaches a high level of proficiency before moving on to the next concept.
    • Teach a variety of math courses tailored to individual student needs, ranging from foundational concepts to advanced topics.
    • Regularly assess student progress through formative and summative assessments and use this data to adjust instruction and provide personalized support.
    • Provide individualized instruction based on each student's unique learning profile, ensuring that students can progress at their own pace while mastering each concept.
  2. Individualized Learning Plans:

    • Develop and monitor individualized learning plans for each student to meet their specific needs and goals.
    • Ensure students are accessing their learning materials through Schoology, maintaining up-to-date records of student progress and performance.
    • Collaborate with other educators and support staff to create appropriate accommodations and modifications for students with diverse learning needs.
  3. Executive Functioning and Life Skills:

    • Teach and encourage executive functioning skills, such as time management, organization, self-monitoring, and problem-solving.
    • Model and reinforce how to work independently, follow directions, and complete assignments with a focus on perseverance and responsibility.
    • Foster a growth mindset in students by encouraging resilience in the face of challenges and promoting the importance of effort and focus in achieving success.
  4. Classroom Environment:

    • Create a positive and supportive classroom environment that encourages active participation, inquiry, and collaboration.
    • Develop and implement strategies to keep students engaged, motivated, and focused on their learning objectives.
    • Foster a safe and inclusive learning environment where students feel respected, valued, and encouraged to take risks in their learning.
