Summary

The Math Teacher is responsible for the successful school experience of every child in their classroom. From academics to social skills, the classroom teacher is responsible for developing each child in a holistic way. Additionally, the classroom teacher is responsible for creating a safe environment where every child feels cared for, supported, and able to thrive.

Description

Job Responsibilities:

  • Create daily lesson plans that are engaging, educational and exciting
  • Deliver lesson plans in a way that catches the attention of the students and keeps them excited about learning
  • Differentiate instruction for a variety of ability levels
  • Create authentic assessments
  • Implement positive behavior interventions
  • Be willing and able to co-teach, co-assess, co-plan, and reflect with other staff members
  • Reach school and course-wide performance goals
  • Grade papers and homework regularly
  • Watch closely for students who are struggling with their learning and help them find the resources and support they need
  • Increase educational knowledge and stay up to date on new methods by joining professional organizations, attending continuing education courses and attending regular training sessions for teachers
  • Partner with families to support student learning and create positive school culture.

Required Qualifications:

  • A valid MN teaching license
  • Prior classroom experience desired
  • Knowledge in your content area
