The Brooklyn Center Community Schools (BCCS) District is seeking applicants to join our elementary building as a Lunch and Recess Support Aide. The Lunch and Recess Support Aide supports daily operations during the lunch and recess hours. We are looking to fill four positions!

Essential Job Responsibilities: 

  • Follows the schedules, protocols and procedures of lunch and recess
  • Comes prepared and on time
  • Builds positive relationships scholars and staff
  • Speaks positively to scholars
  • Models how to open containers 
  • Communicates with nutrition staff and nurses when needed to ensure dietary needs are followed
  • Discourages sharing of food
  • Provides active supervision 
  • Monitors scholars for medical needs and safety

Pay and Benefits: $16.04- $19.64/hour based off of experience
Duty Days: 185 Days, school year position
Duty Hours: 10:00am- 2:00pm Monday- Friday

Qualifications and Requirements: 

  • High school diploma or GED preferred
  • Experience working with children preferred 
  • Previous experience working with diverse populations preferred
  • Able to stand for long periods of time
  • Able to clean tables 
  • Able to actively supervise and respectfully interact with children 
  • Able to follow a schedule
  • Be outside on snow and cold days as well as other temps
