Job Summary:
Under the direction of the Building Principal, the Speech and Language Pathologist is responsible for providing language and speech services directly to qualifying students based upon MN State criteria in the areas of language, articulation, fluency and voice. Conducts speech and language assessments of student needs; interprets informal and standardized communicative measures; and participates in the development of individualized educational plans (IEP’s) for students with eligible communicative needs.Â
Licensure Requirements:
Speech and Language Pathologist MN Teaching License; or
Speech and Language Pathologist Assistant CertificationÂ
Qualifications:
(1) a Speech & Language Pathologist Minnesota Teaching License;or
(2) an associate degree from a speech-language pathology assistant program that is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission of the North Central Association of Colleges or its equivalent as approved by the commissioner; or
(3) a bachelor’s degree in the discipline of communication sciences or disorders with additional transcript credit in the area of instruction in assistant-level service delivery practices and completion of at least 100 hours of supervised field work experience as a speech-language pathology assistant student.
