Position Overview:
Pine Island Middle School is seeking a qualified and dedicated Long-Term Substitute Special Education Teacher to provide support for students with unique needs in a structured educational setting. This Teacher plays a key role in delivering specialized instruction tailored to students’ individualized needs.

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging, differentiated instruction in core academic subjects aligned with students’ abilities.

  • Integrate evidence-based supports to maintain a structured and positive classroom environment.

  • Collaborate with families, service providers, and multidisciplinary teams to create a cohesive support system for student success.

  • Monitor and analyze data on student progress, adjusting instruction as needed.

  • Communicate regularly and professionally with families and team members to support student development.

  • Design and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) to address student-specific academic, social-emotional, and behavioral goals.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Required: Minnesota Special Education licensure.

  • Preferred: Special Education DD or ASD licensure and experience case managing students.

  • Commitment to providing equitable and inclusive education.

  • Demonstrated understanding of cultural competence.

Compensation:
Compensation will be set at a daily rate of $256.59/day.
