About STMA Schools
We are a district that serves over 6,900 students and employs 750+ employees in a northwestern suburb of Minneapolis, Minnesota. Our district consists of one primary school for kindergarten students, three elementary schools for grades 1-4, two middle schools for grades 5-8, and one high school for grades 9-12.
Position Overview & Responsibilities
Responsible for developing and providing specialized, research-based instruction to meet the unique needs of students with disabilities. Also responsible for evaluating and assessing student progress against instructional objectives and following state mandated due process procedures and functions. Postion dates: December 2, 2024 – January 13, 2025
FTE: 1.0
Contract day: Monday – Friday, 7:15am- 3:15pm
Wages: Long-Term Substitute Certified Staff Rate with appropriate subject matter/grade Teacher Certification from PELSB: $249.55/day.
Requirements & Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in education and required teaching certificate in General Special Education as required by the State of Minnesota, specific content knowledge, training, or job experience required before appointment, and successful student teaching. Dual licensure preferred but not required (Licensure area category listed by forced category in MN School Jobs posting, may or may not be correct–please check with the school district).
Assignments
Special education teachers work by district assignment and may be moved between buildings and/or programs based on student needs, location of certain programs, student count(s), and applicable licensure.
