Preschool Teacher Long-term Sub
Position Details: Ridgeway Community School is looking for a long-term substitute Preschool teacher to lead the school's MDE-approved Instructional Preschool Program.  The position is scheduled to begin on Thursday, January 2nd and continue for to April 1st 2025.  Ridgeway's preschool program serves a maximum of 18 students participating in a 3-morning, 5-morning, or 5-full-day program.  An assistant teacher and AmeriCorps member also serve as staff with the program. There will be an opportunity to job shadow the current preschool teacher from December 16 to 20, 2024.
Preschool Teaching Hours:  7:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. on Monday, Wednesdays and Fridays and 7:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. on Tuesday and Thursdays for a total of 32 hours per week.
Additional Hours:   Additional hours at RCS are available for the 2024-25 school year in the following positions:

  • After School Childcare Staff and After School Club leaders

Criminal History Report – The school pays for the Criminal History report which is required before any hiring is finalized.
Licensure and Certification – The ideal candidate will have or have applied for a Minnesota Preschool teaching license (either B-Grade 3 or Age 3-K) is preferred. Applicants with K-6 teaching licenses or education and experience that qualify for certification as a preschool teacher under the Minnesota Department of Human Services criteria will be considered. Individuals with a short-call substitute license are also encouraged to apply.
