Job Summary: The Math teacher will provide instruction and supervision for secondary grade-level students. The Math teacher will be responsible for developing and implementing a comprehensive Math curriculum according to the school’s program objectives to students; conducting instruction that is coherent, purposeful, and engaging; continually assessing student development and performance; preparing and providing feedback on student progress to students and families.
 
 Licensure/Qualifications:

  • A valid Minnesota Teacher's License for secondary math.
  • Professional verification of successful classroom teacher performance and/or student teaching experience

 
Essential Skills Required:

  • Understanding of the Minnesota Academic Standards for content area
  • Establishes a culture for learning by supporting the mission, beliefs and the strategic plan of the district
  • Inspires and engages all students in relevant learning
  • Maintain confidentiality of information about students, staff and families
  • Experience working with diverse students and families – experience/training with CLR (Culturally Linguistically Responsive) methods preferred

Responsibilities:

  • Design lesson plans with instruction to appropriate learning levels that reflect differentiation in student learning styles and abilities
  • Use a variety of methodologies in teaching and instructing pupils, including lectures, demonstrations, discussions, lectures, and experiments.
  • Use formative and summative assessments to monitor student performance.
  • Communicate, motivate, and build relationships with students
  • Provide feedback to students and parents on a student’s progress at conferences and other meetings
  • Integrate technology and media as appropriate to teach lessons that engage students and further enhance their knowledge.
  • Perform all other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Supervisor
