EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITY
Long Term Visual Arts Substitute Teacher:
Art & Science Academy (ASA), a public charter school district with two schools (grades K-4 and 5-8), is seeking a long-term substitute for our Middle School Visual Arts teaching position during the time period of March 24-May 24.
The ideal teaching candidate will enjoy working in an innovative, supportive and dynamic educational setting and will enjoy working collaboratively to develop an art integrated curriculum and to team-teach daily. Ideal candidates will enjoy the challenge and responsibility of working in a unique and highly successful educational program that infuses the arts into academic learning daily. Ideal candidates will be highly motivated, organized, optimistic, problem solvers, adaptable and communicate positively and effectively. Job Summary:
Grade 5-8 teachers develop curriculum and materials using engaging and age-appropriate instructional strategies based on the best practices of Art & Science integration; infuse art and science into the curriculum on a continual basis; incorporate hands-on learning activities into daily instruction; communicate closely and encourage parental involvement regarding program goals, classroom activities, homework, school functions and student progress; create a safe and welcoming classroom environment using best practices; collaborate with other teachers or administrators regarding their teaching; maintain knowledge of current and emerging trends, procedures and evaluation processes; participate in regular planning and staff development; and participate in professional development deemed important to the school and/or to individual teachers.

Bachelor's Degree

Valid Minnesota Teaching License

MN State Substitute License
Preferences:

Teaching experience with K-8 students

Experience with PBIS/Catalyst/Responsive Classroom

Art & Science Academy is located in Isanti, Minnesota. Isanti is 45 minutes north of Minneapolis-St. Paul and offers a small town feel with nearby big city amenities. ASA opened its doors in 2014 with a single K-6 school that served 160 students, and now serves approximately 350 students in grades K-8 on two campuses (K-4 and 5-8).
