Community of Peace Academy is an urban public charter school located on the East Side of St. Paul Minnesota serving over 800 students in grades PreK to 12. 2024-2025 will be our 30th school year. We are seeking a long-term guest teacher for 6th Grade Language Arts Teacher (December 9, 2024 – January 20, 2025) to join our Middle School team. In addition to teaching three sections of 6th Grade Language Arts, the Language Arts Teacher will serve as the Advisory/Ethics Teacher for a cohort of 6th grade students. You would work in collaboration with other team members and the teacher on leave would support with planning. 
  
The qualified applicant will hold a Minnesota Teaching license in Elementary Education or in English/Language Arts, have a strong understanding of the Minnesota Academic Standards, possess the ability to develop rapport with learners of diverse backgrounds, and demonstrate an unyielding commitment to helping all students attain high academic and ethical standards of performance.
 
In addition, all teachers are supported in their professional growth through weekly PLCs, structured common planning, and frequent observation and coaching.
