ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

- Works with the whole class under the supervision of the classroom teacher.
- Reinforces the instructional plan laid out by the classroom teacher.
- Provides instructional assistance and motivate students in the areas of math, reading, and language.Â
- Facilitates and delivers practice activities designed to enrich and extend learning.
- Assists teacher with classroom activities; leads breakout sessions.
- Collaborates with students to create a safe, positive learning environment.
- Monitors and reports progress of individual students to teachers.
- Supports adaptations in the learning environment based on observation of student performance and engagement.
- Other duties or tasks may be assigned on an as-needed basis.
- Promotes and supports the overall mission of the District by demonstrating courteous and cooperative behavior when interacting with public and staff; acts in a manner that promotes a harmonious and effective workplace environment.Â

QUALIFICATIONS:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
Â
Education and Experience:
- Two (2) years post-secondary education OR a passing ParaPro Score.
- Two (2) years of curriculum support experience.
- OR an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.Â

Required Certificates, Licenses, and Registrations:
Continued employment is contingent upon all required licenses and certificates being maintained in active status without suspension or revocation.

- District policies and procedures.
- Applicable policies, procedures and regulations covering specific areas of assignment.
- Classroom policies, procedures and processes.
- Methods and techniques to assist students in reading, writing and mathematics.
- Methods and techniques for working with students with disabilities and special needs.
- Local community resources and regional community services programs.Â
- Computer applications related to the work.
- Correct business English, including spelling, grammar and punctuation.

- Assisting children and special needs students and assessing educational needs.
