Kindergarten Paraprofessional

Hours: 3.5 hours  (9:45 am – 1:15 pm when students are in session)
Class: IV
Starting rate of pay: $20.81

Position Description:
The person in this position will be responsible for 2.5 hours of assisting with kindergarten students during the school day, and 1 hour of cafeteria supervision.  The successful candidate will work to support the learning of kindergarten students.  Duties include small group work/support, read alouds, 1:1 student interaction and assessment, supervision of an entire classroom, kindergarten recess, etc.

• Experience working with young children, preferably in a school environment
• Ability to take direction
• Ability to multitask and supervise students in an environment that is highly engaging
•  Flexibility and patience
• Ability to communicate effectively with students
• Ability to provide positive and effective supervision
• Ability to maintain confidentiality
• Ability to make decisions independently
