Kindergarten Paraeducator and Recess Supervisor

Description:
The Shakopee school district has an opening for a Kindergarten Paraprofessional at Eagle Creek Elementary combined with recess supervisor. 
5 hours/day- Monday through Friday on student days. Starting pay $18.65/hr. 

Job Summary:
This position works directly with kindergarten students in a classroom under the direction of teachers; assisting the teacher, providing student supervision and support as needed. Provides support to all students ensuring successful learning and interactions with peers and other adults.  This positionwill also be a recess supervisor for all grades.

Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent is required.
Ability to supervise children in a positive manner.
Ability to make appropriate decisions quickly. Knowledge of discipline policies and procedures.
Able to work independently.
Ability to maintain confidentiality.
Ability to follow teacher’s plan and direction, and communicate effectively with students and staff.
Experience working with young children.

Working Conditions:
Classroom environment.
Ability to safely lift up to 50lbs.
