K-12 Music Teacher

Description

Verndale Public School is accepting applications for a 1.0 FTE K-12 Music Teacher for the 2025-2026 school year. The successful candidate will have a passion for music education, strong vocal music expertise, and the ability to inspire students of all ages.

Responsibilities:

  • Design and deliver a comprehensive vocal music program for elementary and high school students.
  • Teach vocal techniques, music theory, and performance skills.
  • Direct choirs and vocal ensembles, organizing rehearsals and performances.
  • Prepare students for school and community events, competitions, and concerts.
  • Assess and track student progress, providing constructive feedback and support.
  • Collaborate with teachers and staff to integrate music education into the broader school curriculum.
  • Maintain a safe, inclusive, and creative classroom environment that encourages student participation.

Preferred Experience:

  • Guitar and piano proficiency to support classroom instruction and performances.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills.
  • Ability to inspire and motivate students in their musical pursuits.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Music Education, with a focus on vocal music.
  • Valid Minnesota teaching license in music.
  • Experience in teaching high school vocal music and directing choirs (preferred but not required).
