Description
Duties
- Instruct athletes on fundamental skills, strategy, and physical training necessary for individual and team success
- Demonstrate and instruct behaviors that lead to socially acceptable character development, self discipline, confidence, and pride of accomplishments in student athletes
- Perform various duties as assigned by head coach or athletic director
- Generate an attitude of fair play for adhering to the Minnesota State High School League “Code of Ethicsâ€
- Be in regular attendance at all competitions and training sessions
- Instruct student/athlete in rules, rule changes, new developments and innovative ideas in coaching
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Knowledge of all athletic policies and implementation by the entire staff on the program
- State and league regulations; implements the same consistency with all staff
- Have understanding knowledge of rules and regulations as presented by the Minnesota State High School League.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Has the ability to organize and supervise a total sports program
- Has previous successful coaching experience in assigned sport
- Continue to examine new theories and procedures pertinent to the sport
- Strong interpersonal and organizational skills
