SCIENCE EDUCATOR POSITION (Junior High School preferred)
Fairmont Area Schools is seeking passionate, student-centered candidates to fill a Science Educator position at the Jr./Sr. High School for the 2024-25 school year. This position is available due to a resignation at the junior high school level and will be a long-term position. Fairmont Area School District is located in Fairmont, Minnesota on I-90. “The City of Lakes” has a population of roughly 10,500 and attracts many professionals for manufacturing, service and agriculture related careers. Fairmont takes great pride in its public school and has repeatedly supported the district and the staff. Fairmont Area Schools serves about 1,800 students preK-12th grade in Fairmont and the surrounding area. Many families choose to open-enroll in Fairmont due to our committed staff, robust programming, and quality facilities. Graduating classes are roughly 140 students per year and classroom sizes are in the twenties. Fairmont Jr./Sr. High School Science Department has an innovative and phenomenon-based approach focused on fostering a love of science. The hands-on approach to teaching science allows for the use of models and scientific vocabulary to help explain the world around us and develop the true scientific skills necessary for solving the problems of tomorrow.
