Position: Intervention Teacher (.75)
Schedule: 194 duty days, Monday – Friday (Time: TBD)

Required Qualifications:

  1. Licensed in  Elementary Education and minimum three years of experience as an intervention teacher (small group/Tier II or Tier III).

  2. Deep understanding of the ISD 622 MTSS framework, research and evidence-based instructional methods, and high-impact intervention strategies.

  3. Awareness of one’s own racial and cultural identities and demonstrated ability to work across differences.

  4. Experience implementing intensive academic interventions such as: Lexia, Dreambox, PRESS, Read Naturally Live & GATE, Cracking the Code, and Making Connections.

  5. Proven experience creating and maintaining strong relationships.

  6. Effective interpersonal communication and organization skills.

  7. Deep knowledge regarding foundational reading skills and the science of reading.

  8. Experience in FastBridge and PRESS assessments.

  9. Strong knowledge of classroom and small-group instruction management techniques.

  10. Considerable ability to interact effectively with students, parents, teachers, and building leadership. 

Preferred Qualifications:

  1. Proficient with ISD 622 instructional technology.

  2. Must demonstrate continued professional development through coursework, research and peer collaboration.

  3. Considerable knowledge of the core curriculum within the K-5 classrooms.

  4. Understanding of compliance requirements for Title I funded positions and supporting schoolwide plans. 

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  1. Support the implementation of the District 622 Strategic Plan and Elementary MTSS framework

  2. Provide daily intervention and small-group instruction in math and literacy for students in grades K-5.

  3. Co-support WIN time scheduling, planning, and implementation of academic interventions. 

  4. Support data team meetings, as well as ongoing progress monitoring data team meetings, ensuring that students’ instructional needs are identified, and targeted interventions are matched to student needs.

  5. Attend district-level MTSS &/or Title I meetings. 

  6. Attend professional development opportunities related to data literacy and explicit instruction in literacy, math, and/or SEL as these opportunities arise.

  7. Maintain contact and communications with parents of students and work with them in the development of each student.

  8. Keeps current on researched-based instructional strategies and best practices with an emphasis on student engagement and learning. 

  9. Additional duties as assigned by building administrator. This may include supporting classroom coverage, if needed.
