Intern – Community Education 

Lincoln Community Center
 
 Mankato Area Public Schools, Community Education has a position as a Community Education Intern available beginning January and ending at the conclusion of the Spring academic term.  This assignment is for a total of 560 hours.

Job Summary: Responsibilities Include:
Assisting with site program development, delivery, and administration.  Review with supervisor program budget and purchasing activities. Under the direction of supervisor, provide supervision of site staff, maintain a safe environment for youth, and communicate with parents/guardians as directed by program supervisors. Specific areas of learning will depend on the season.  Programmatic areas may include Rec on the Go! , Middle School After School, Transition Camp, Saturday Morning Youth Sports, outdoor movie events, Open Gym, ACES,  and end of season organization & clean up.
 

Qualifications Required: 

  • Enrolled in higher education program requiring practicum experience

  • Practicum experience site approval from academic advisor

  • Minimum of one year experience working with school age children or significant college coursework in a related field and knowledge of child and youth development

  • Ability to work as a team member, work independently and supervise others

  • Valid MN Driver’s License and reliable transportation.

Hourly wage: $10.33
