Integration Specialist
Lincoln Park Middle School

40 Hours per Week/41 Weeks per Year

Summary:
Duluth Public Schools is seeking an individual to promote the District’s vision and strategic plan through integrating relevant multi-cultural learning experiences for students. Advocates for the successful achievement and development of protected students throughout the District. Coordinates “Graduation Planning” with assigned students, parents, and school staff, especially Teachers, and community resources, as necessary. Contributes to staff training, community partnerships, academic success of students, including cultural curriculum, peer mediation, and specific integration experiences that benefit instruction and learning. Work with the students, staff and parents to provide a smooth transition and educational support as eligible students transition through all grade levels.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Requires a combination of teaching or related social service education and experience totaling 5 years.

Knowledge Requirments:

  • Community resources available for parents, students and teachers, such as CAIR, Lutheran Social Services, and Talent Search.
  • Various cultural backgrounds, communities of color, promoting diversity, and eliminating racism, and using such techniques as advocacy and staff development.
  • Administrative and/or educational intervention techniques.
  • Desegregation/Integration and Closing the Achievement Gap issues, policies and terminology.
  • Curriculum development strategies and models, such as, the Urban Learner Framework.

Medical/Prescription Drug Plan with Health Reimbursement Arrangement

  • Single Coverage – District pays 100% of premium (FREE) + contributes $2,612.50 into HRA annually
  • Family Coverage – District pays 75% of premium (25% employee contribution) + contributes $5,225.00 into HRA annually

Dental Plan

  • Single Coverage – District pays 100% of Basic premium (FREE)
  • Family Coverage – District pays 25% of Premium

  • District provides minimum of $50,000 of life insurance at no cost, employee may purchase supplemental life insurance

  • District-provided at no cost to employee

Flexible Spending Accounts

  • Employees may elect to contribute on a pre-tax basis to Health Flexible Spending Accounts and Dependent Care Accounts

Retirement

  • The District contributes 7.25% of your total salary in the Public Employees Retirement Association) pension plan.
  • Employees may also elect to participate in Tax-Shelter Annuity options.

Time Off

  • Each bargaining unit contract defines time off provisions such as holidays, sick/personal leave, vacation, etc.
