Watertown-Mayer High School has an opening for an Industrial Technology teacher for the 2025-26 school year. The position is full time. The teacher would be responsible for teaching classes involving different levels of woodworking, welding, computer design programs, and engineering.  Applications will be accepted until February 7th, 2025. Position Overview:
We are seeking a dynamic and innovative Industrial Tech Teacher to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for preparing students for career success by delivering engaging, hands-on instruction in one or more CTE pathways. This position offers the opportunity to collaborate with educators, industry partners, and the community to provide students with real-world learning experiences.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Develop and deliver curriculum aligned with state standards in one or more CTE areas, such as woodworking, construction, and welding

  • Provide engaging, project-based instruction that incorporates industry-relevant skills and technologies.

  • Collaborate with local businesses and community organizations to establish internships, job-shadowing opportunities, and mentorships for students.

  • Manage and maintain CTE equipment, labs, and learning spaces to ensure a safe and productive learning environment.

  • Support students in developing career plans and exploring post-secondary opportunities.

  • Participate in professional development and stay current with trends and advancements in CTE fields.

  • Engage in school and district initiatives to support student achievement and the strategic plan.

  • Collaborate with colleagues, administrators, and parents to foster student success.

Qualifications:

  • Valid MN teaching license in the area of Industrial Tech, or Agriculture Education or related field.

  • Demonstrated expertise in one or more CTE pathways (e.g., welding, woodworking).

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

  • Commitment to fostering an inclusive and equitable learning environment.

  • Ability to build partnerships with industry and community organizations.

  • Preferred: Industry certifications or experience in a related technical field.
