Human Resources/Payroll Coordinator, 1.0 FTE – Southland Public Schools

Southland Public Schools in Adams, MN is looking to hire a Human Resources/Payroll Coordinator.  This is a year-round position. 

Job Summary: The Human Resources/Payroll Coordinator plays a crucial role in maintaining employee personnel files and payroll system integrity and ensuring employees are compensated accurately and in compliance with regulations.  Key responsibilities include onboarding of employees, maintenance of personnel information, administering employee benefits, processing payroll, setting up pay records, maintaining employee deductions, preparing periodic reports of earnings, taxes, and deductions, providing support and training on time off requests and time clock, and performing other assigned duties. This position requires meticulous attention to detail, knowledge of bargaining unit contracts and state requirements, familiarity with payroll processing systems, and the ability to effectively communicate with employees and third-party entities. 

Qualifications:

    • Associate degree with major coursework in Business, Finance, Human Resources Management or a related field.  Four-year degree is preferred.
    • School District HR/payroll experience preferred
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with diverse stakeholders
    • Ability to multitask and handle confidential information with discretion
    • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
    • Experience with SMART Systems preferred
    • Proficiency in MS Office Suite
    • Must be a self-starter and possess the ability to work independently
