Job Title:Â Hispanic Student, Family, and Community Engagement Specialist – Lake Elmo ElementaryÂ
Job Summary:Â Â
- To promote academic growth and success
- To nurture relationships between families and school staffÂ
- To serve as a cultural resource between families, school staff and the community Â
- To support students and families in navigating our school systems
- To support home learning environments
- To expand access to postsecondary information and pathways
FTE/Hours per Day:Â Â 7.0 hours per day, 175 days per year.
Requirements: High school diploma or GED equivalent. Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in Education, Social Work, Multicultural Studies, Counseling or related field.
Qualifications:Â Â
- Two years’ experience working with families across cultures, preferably in a school setting.
- Bachelor’s degree in Education, Social Work, Multicultural Studies, Counseling or related field preferred.
- Proficient in Spanish and English – both speaking and writing
- Experience building relationships with and supporting parents across cultures
- Experience interpreting in a professional setting
- Knowledge of and comfort sharing Latin American culture
- Ability to work in a team environment, take work direction from and collaborate with a
- broad range of district employees and teams
- Â Ability to maintain confidentiality and establish boundaries in working with students and families
- Â Computer and technology skills; proficiency in Word, Google Docs, and ability to learn new platformsÂ
- Other duties as assigned.

Salary/Wage Information:  The hourly salary range for this position is $22.49 – $24.76 (A13) . A generous insurance plan is also included. See attached terms and conditions of employment for more information.Â
