Required Qualifications:
- Current MN Teaching license or licensed in School Psychology, Social Work or as a School Counselor
- Current Principal license or enrolled in a program
- Knowledge and experience with positive approaches to managing student behavior
- Experience with a diverse population and knowledge of culturally responsive practices
- Ability to work cooperatively with others
- Strong organizational skills
Responsibilities:
- Supervise operations; help plan daily summer school activities by participating in the development of class schedules, teacher assignments; supervise reporting and monitoring of student attendance.
- Ensure students are adequately supervised during non-instructional periods; assist in developing and maintaining a student discipline process that results in positive student behavior; ensure that school rules are uniformly observed and student discipline is appropriate and equitable; conduct conferences on student and school issues with parents, students, and teachers.
- Participate in the development and evaluation of summer school educational programs; participate in professional development activities; monitor assigned summer school instructional programs; encourage and support the development of innovative instructional programs; promote the use of technology in teaching/learning process; promote an engagin, positive, caring, and supportive climate for learning and instruction.
- Assist the ALC Principal in the management of staffing and the master schedule.
- Supervises non-licensed personnel as assigned
- Support summer staff development training
- Assist the ALC Principal in interviewing, selecting, and orienting summer school staff.
- Other duties as assigned.
