We are seeking a Chemistry Teacher to join our High School team complete the 2022-2023 school year.  The contract for this position will begin April 10, 2023 and will be available through the 2023-2024 school year.  In addition to 11^th Grade Chemistry, the Science Teacher will serve as the Advisory/Ethics Teacher for a cohort of 10th grade students.
 
The qualified applicant will hold a MN Teaching license for secondary Physical Science and Chemistry, have a strong understanding of the Minnesota Academic Standards in Science, possess the ability to develop rapport with learners of diverse backgrounds, and demonstrate an unyielding commitment to helping all students attain high academic and ethical standards of performance.
 
We place great emphasis upon building community and encouraging character development through positive relationships.  Home Visits have been a key component of the CPA tradition for over 20 years. Each fall, Teachers visit the homes of their students after school, usually in pairs or teams of three.  
 
In addition, Developmental Designs is implemented across grades 7-12. All of our teachers are required to be trained in DD1. Training opportunities are available for new staff in the summer months and during the school year, and internal coaching and support is provided in implementing DD practices.  In addition, all teachers are supported in their professional growth through weekly PLCs, structured common planning, and frequent observation and coaching.  All new teachers are also supported by a Mentor.
