Community of Peace Academy is an urban public charter school located on the East Side of St. Paul Minnesota serving nearly 850 students in grades PreK to 12.  We take pride in being a multicultural community of students and staff committed to educating the whole person –  mind, body and will – for peace, justice, freedom, compassion, wholeness and fullness of life for all.   

We are seeking a Chemistry Teacher to join our High School team for the 2023-2024 school year. In addition to 11th Grade Chemistry a 12th Grade Science Elective, the Science Teacher will serve as the Advisory/Ethics Teacher.
 
We place great emphasis upon building community and encouraging character development through positive relationships. Developmental Designs is implemented across grades 9-12. All of our teachers are required to be trained in DD1. Training opportunities are available for new staff in the summer months and during the school year, and internal coaching and support is provided in implementing DD practices.  In addition, all teachers are supported in their professional growth through weekly PLCs, structured common planning, and frequent observation and coaching.  All new teachers are also supported by a Mentor.
