Job Summary:Â
- Work under the direction of the District Licensed School Nurse
- Work under the direction of school health services specialists as assigned.
- Provide coverage in health offices for short time periods as needed and assigned.
- Administer routine and minor first aid to students (e.g. band aids).
- Shadow students with fragile medical conditions/needs during recess and lunch times.
- Monitor students with special needs for warning signs or symptoms of critical care needs. Â
- Record student health concerns or health office visits as required.
- Maintain accurate routine records.
- Other duties as assigned.
Â
Qualifications
- Previous work in a school health office setting preferred.
- CPR/First Aid Certification or willingness to obtain.
- Ability to exercise judgment in dealing with emergencies and special health needs of students.
- Knowledge of data privacy and the ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Dedication to providing the highest level of customer service to the school community.
- Enjoy working in a fast-paced environment with students, parents, and school staff members.
- Ability to multi-task and prioritize work responsibilities.
- Display flexibility and openness to change.
- Ability to initiate tasks based on situational needs.
- Ability to problem solve and diffuse difficult situations and respond in crisis situations.
- Willingness to participate in ongoing staff development and dedication to continuous professional growth.
- Visual ability to read handwritten or typed documents, and the display screen of various office equipment and machines.

Schedule:Â Monday-Friday, 3 hours per day (mid-day), 178 days/year (student days)
Certification differential available.
Bargaining Group and Level:Â Â ESP – Responsibility Level III
