Work Schedule:Â 8 hours per day, 178 days per year (9-month school year)
Salary: Â Based on Health Aide Agreement
RN Starting Salary: $30.61
LPN Starting Salary: $26.57

QUALIFICATIONS:Â Â Â Â 1. Â Â Current LPN or RN licensure in State of Minnesota
                                      2.   Current Red Cross First Aid and CPR certification
                                      3.   Respect for confidentiality of information
                                     4.   Ability and interest in working with students, parents, school staff
                                      5.   Maturity and stability; ability to recognize limitations, to accept and utilize
                                             supervision
                                      6.   Ability to work independently with minimal supervision

PERFORMANCEÂ RESPONSIBILITIES:
Â
  1.   Administer first aid and episodic care in accordance with school district policy, as advised by school
         nurse. Â
  2.   Arrange for transportation of students who become ill or are injured at school.
  3.   Make appropriate referrals to nurse, chemical awareness counselor and other staff members as
         needed (i.e. pregnancy, drug use, acute chronic illness).
  4.   Administer medication only to students having appropriate forms complete. Keep accurate record of
     medication administered. Â
  5.   As a member of the health team, is responsible for triage of information to appropriate team
         members. Â
  6.   Maintain health related student records.
  7.   Be responsible for health services clerical details which include:
         A.   Maintenance of accurate health records (i.e. initiate new/transfer student’s health cards and
                collect, review, record and file health information – immunizations, sign history)
         B.   Recording of screenings and physical examinations
         C.   Prepare accident reports, confidential health lists, health history updates, parent notification
                forms, etc.
         D.   Complete requisitions for health office supplies
         E.   Issue first aid supplies to staff
         F.   Stock first aid cabinets
         G.  Scheduling of appointments
         H.   Typing, filing and answer phone calls and other related functions for maintenance of an
                organized and effective health office
  8.   Assist building administrator with enforcement of immunization regulations.
  9.   Assist with screenings under the direction of the school nurse.
10.    Clean health office as necessary.
