Requirements:
- MN licensed School Counselor.
- Demonstrated computer literacy in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Google applications such as GoogleDocs and the calendar function.
- Ability to work well alone as well as with others.
- Ability to multi-task.
- Ability to prioritize competing tasks.
- Ability to learn new skills quickly.
- Organizational skills.
- Willingness to travel on occasion.

- Prior experience with 6th – 12th grade students
- Prior experience working with students in alternative-type settings

Responsibilities:
- Academic Counseling
- Work with enrollment department to register and orient new students.
- Analyze student transcripts and aid students in course and subject selection in order to ensure graduation.
- Create individual schedules and enroll students in classes at the beginning of each term.
- Work with students to achieve academic success by means of individual or family conferences concerning attendance, study skills, progress reports, and grade advancement.
- Advise and work with PSEO students to ensure graduation requirements are met.
- Personal/Social Counseling
- Assist students and families with needs that arise throughout the school year.
- Provide groups to address common student needs.
- Refer students to outside agencies to assist with issues that are beyond the scope of a school counselor licensure.
- Refer students to 504 coordinator as needed.
- Career Counseling
- Promote post-secondary planning in all students.
- Facilitate student use of the MCIS program.
- Advise students about future career paths using internships, job-shadowing, and field trips.
- Assist with creation of social events for students to interact with each other 1-2 times each year.
- Assist with testing efforts as part of school-wide effort.
- Other duties as assigned.
