Description
Description: The General Education teacher is responsible for developing and teaching content based on Minnesota academic standards, approved curriculum, and AWCL’s Learning Investigation model. The General Education Teacher is also responsible for creating a classroom environment that is conducive to a variety of learning styles, evaluating and assessing student performance, interpreting student progress, and informing parents and guardians of student strengths, weaknesses, and progress within the classroom.
Qualifications:
● Bachelor’s degree in education or related field required
● Valid Minnesota teaching license required (Tier 1 or Tier 2 will be considered)
Preferred Skills and Work Experience:
● General knowledge of MN history, specifically the Bemidji Area
● General knowledge of environmental education
● Specific knowledge of assigned content area(s) and state assessments
● Specific knowledge of assessment and lesson design
● General knowledge of classroom management across grades K-8
● General knowledge of serving special populations of learners
● Excellent communication, public relations, and interpersonal skills
● Organizational and technology skills
● Effective oral and written communication skills
● Demonstrates good judgment; approachable and professional; solid problem solving skills; self-motivated; well organized
