Description/Requirements:

Rockford Area Schools is currently accepting applications for a Paraprofessional at Rockford Middle.  Paraprofessionals provide assistance to at risk students at the direction of a license staff member. They assist teachers in general classroom activities, asssist with supervision in a variety of settings to ensure a safe environment, engage with academic task completion, promote participation, direct positive behavior, help assist with social interactions,  and more. The paraprofessional could provide support in a variety of settings ranging from a 1:1, group, or grade level supervision.  They may also provide general education push in support services where needed.

  • Strong work ethic, flexibility, and team collaboration are essential.
  • Demonstrated interest and respect for the unique needs of students and families.
  • Ability to supervise a range of different student groups in a variety of different settings throughout the school

Qualifications

  • First Aid and CPR Certified (preferred)
  • Experience working with school aged children

Schedule
This is a Full time position.  1.0 FTE Paraprofessional – this position will have lunchroom supervision duties built in to the schedule.

Salary range: $19.35-$22.92/hr.

Benefits:
Bargaining Unit:  SEIU – Rockford #883 ,Agreement 

Medical

  • Single Coverage – District pays $685 toward premium (per 1.0 fte position/pro-rated)

  • Family Coverage – District pays $1300 toward premium (per 1.0 fte position/pro-rated)

  • District contributes $500 into HSA – if enrolled in high deductible plan

  • Flexible Spending Acct:  Employees may elect to contribute on a pre-tax basis to Health Flexible Spending Accounts and Dependent Care Accounts

Retirement:

  • The District contributes 7.5% of your total salary in the Public Employees Retirement Association pension plan

  • Employees may also elect to participate in a matching Deferred Compensation Plan 

Dental:  Single coverage – District pays sum not to exceed $35 for employee only
Life Insurance:  District provides $50,000 of life insurance at no cost, employee may purchase supplemental life insurance
Long Term Disability:  District provided at no cost to the employee
