Front Desk Attendant

    

Job Summary: The Front Desk Attendant at Lakes International Language Academy, a Spanish and Chinese immersion school in Forest Lake, MN, is responsible for welcoming visitors, answering phone calls and emails, and supporting teachers and other LILA staff. Work will be done under the direction of the Upper School Principal.

 


 

Schedule: 

  • Monday through Friday

  • 11 Months

  • 7:00 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.

  • Occasional evenings during the school year for conferences and other school events

 

FTE:  1.0 

 

Wage Scale: $17.00 – $20.00 per hour

 


 

Essential Functions:   

  • Performs routine clerical and receptionist work involving tasks such as greeting visitors, document preparation and distribution, maintaining statistical information, distributing messages, copying, faxing and filing 

  • Answer questions from students, parents, and the general public

  • Maintain and update student files and records

  • Work with the principal to coordinate efforts with families interested in enrolling students

  • Serve as back-up for the health office as needed

  • Maintain building security by following all security and emergency procedures

  • Participate in professional development

  • Perform other duties as assigned

 


Required Qualifications:

  • 1-3 years prior front desk experience

  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working in a school setting

 


 

Physical Requirements:

Each of these positions requires vocal communication, hearing, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, reaching, standing, walking, sitting, pushing, pulling, use of hands to grasp and feel, and vision abilities including close, distance, and adjusting focus.  Lifting/moving required frequently up to 25 pounds and occasionally up to 40 pounds or more.  Work occasionally requires exposure to bloodborne pathogens and is generally in a moderately noisy location.  Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. Â
