Position Title:Â Food Service Worker I
FLSA Status:Â Non-Exempt
Hours: 10:15 am – 2:00 pm (Monday – Friday)
Start Date: ASAP
Job Summary: Under general supervison, this position is responsible for assisting with daily kitchen operations. This role completes a variety of tasks in the scholl kitchen; prepares and serves food, cleans work areas and equipment up to health code standards, operates a point of sale terminal/register, and takes accurate counts. The food service worker I psoition plays a key role in positivley impacting the lives of children in our community.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Â
- Kitchen Support:
- Assist with meal preperation and serving food to students
- Providing support to kitchen staff as required
- Taking on a variety of tasks to ensure smooth kitchen operations
- Point of Sale
- Operate point of sale register, ensuring student PIN numbers and charges are accurate
- Assisting students with questions and ensuring a welcoming atmosphere
- Dishwashing and Sanitation:
- Washing all items used throughout the day with a dish machine and three-compartment sink
- Ensuring all dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment are cleaned and sanitized properly
- Handling and using chemicals safely for cleaning purposes
- Health & Safety:
- Follow proper food handling procedures to ensure compliance with safety and sanitation regulations
- Additional Duties:
- Participate in professional development sessions to enhance skills and ensure compliance with regulations
- Other duties as needed to support kitchen and food service operations
?? Education, Experience, Skills & Physical Requirements:
- Degree:Â
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Experience:Â
- Prior experience in food sercive or working with children is a plus but not required.
- Skills:
- Ability to follow instructions and work in a fast-paced environment
- Strong interpersonal skills to interact positively with students, staff, and teammates
- Basic math skills for operating registers and counting inventory
- Physical:
- Must be able to stand, twist, turn and lift up to 30 pounds regularly.
Salary and Benefits:
- Salary:
- Hourly Range: $19.41 – $20.71/hour
- Hourly placement is based on experience, as per district guidelines.Â
