Paynesville Area Schools is in search of a Food Service worker at the Secondary School for the 2023-2024 school year.
3.75 hours per day.

JOB SUMMARY:

To help prepare and serve nutritious meals to students and assist in cleanup duties as necessary each day.

 

ASSIGNMENT: 

3.75 hours/day, 5 days/week

MAJOR AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY:  

45 – 55%

Cleanup 

  1. Wash dishes from breakfast, lunch and food preparation.

  2. Deliver clean trays/utensils to serving line.

  3. Sweep/scrub floor.

  4. Clean cafeteria tables.

  5. Recycle boxes, cans, etc.

  6. Clean dishwasher.

Assist in serving lunch to students.

Food preparation

  1. Help pan food as needed.

  2. Help prepare canned/fresh fruits and/or vegetables.

  3. Assist in bag lunches/salads, as needed.

  4. Assist with transferring food from oven/steamer/warmer.

  5. Help prepare breads.

Set up serving line/condiment table.

  1. Assemble serving utensils and pans on serving line.

  2. Fill milk cooler.

  3. Prepare condiments to be used for the day/refill in between groups.

  4. Refill napkins/silverware.

  5. Put down cafeteria tables as needed.

 

CRITICAL SKILLS/EXPERTISE:

 

Physical Involvement:

  1. Position requires extended periods of standing often during the entire shift.

  2. Occasional bending/stooping.

  3. Lifting of up to fifty pounds with milk cases/freight.

  4. Work duties must be completed in a swift manner.

 

Mental Involvement:

  1. Position requires need for handling multiple tasks.

  2. Work must be accomplished with the pressure of classes being served in a timely fashion.

  3. End of day cleanup requires attention to detail.

 

Working Conditions:

  1. Occasional exposure to cleaning chemicals, and warm temperatures.

  2. Exposure to noise levels from equipment and students.

  3. Exposure to potential danger from equipment (slicer, oven).

 

Supervision of Other Employees: 

  1. This position does not include supervision or work direction of other employees.

 

MIMUMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

 

Education:

  1. High school graduate or equivalent.

 

Experience:

  1. No prior experience required.

 

Special Knowledge or Skills: 

  1. Able to work effectively as a team member with co-workers.

 

Equipment, Machines, Tools, Electronic Devices, Software:

  1. Position requires maintenance and daily cleaning of dishwasher.

  2. Position requires some knowledge of use of ovens, meat slicer, and mixer.
