POSITION TITLE:                COOKS HELPER
 
POSITION PURPOSE:         Produce and serve a variety of nutritionally balanced food prepared by using tested and uniform recipes to students, staff, and visitors.
 
TRAINING & EXPERIENCE:
 
MINIMUM EDUCATION OR EXPERIENCE:  High School Diploma or GED.
LICENSE NEEDS:  None.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS: 

  • Ability to obtain Fundamentals of Health and Sanitation of School Food Nutrition Certificate with one year of employment.
  • Must be able to lift and manage 40 lbs of weight.
  • Computer skills may be needed and are strongly desired. 
    IMMEDIATE SUPERVISOR:   Food Service Supervisor
    SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:   None
     
    PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:                                                                            
                                                                                                                                                     
  1. Assists in the preparation and serving of food in a quick, professional and pleasant manner.
  2. Replenishes supplies of food on the serving line.  Prepare additional quantities as needed.
  3. Assist with cleanup and proper storage of foods and supplies, according to HACCP principles.
  4. Assist in preparing daily production and inventory records.
  5. May request necessary supplies needed for use in production of scheduled menu items.
  6. Assist with cashier duties as assigned.
  7. Cleans equipment, storage, and work areas.
  8. Attends meetings and training sessions.
  9. May provide back-up duties to Head Cook as requested.
  10. Maintains confidentiality of information as required.
  11. Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor.Â
