Reason for Vacancy:Â Substitute / On Call Position
Essential Functions and Description of Position: Substitute, on a call basis to assist food servers and in the dishroom.
Hours: As Needed.
Salary: $12.50/hour
JOB SUMMARY
Assists in the preparation, service, and clean-up of nourishing and attractive meals for school district students, staff, and guests. Complies with all applicable sanitation and health standards. Follows established food production programs and procedures.
  QUALIFICATIONS
  Education/License/Certification:

High school diploma or equivalent preferred
   Work Experience:
- Experience Required: None

Experience in food service, preparation, and/or catering preferred.
  Special Knowledge/Essential Skills:Â

Ability to perform basic mathematical skills (addition, subtraction, division, multiplication, and basic algebra)

Ability to communicate information and ideas effectively to others

Ability to organize, prioritize and accomplish a variety of assigned tasks

Ability to work independently and/or as a team to complete tasks and meet goals

Ability to recognize problems, determine causes, and take appropriate action for resolution

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Identifies and recognizes safe building and working conditions, and school safety procedures.

Correctly uses and disposes of cleaning products.

Follows procedures for the use of chemical cleaners and equipment to prevent damage to property, self, and others.Â

Complies with all local, state, and federal safety regulations.

Reads, understands, and follows chemical data/handling bulletins, nutrition labels, recipes, and equipment warnings and directions.

Works cooperatively in a courteous and time sensitive manner with colleagues, supervisors, students, staff, and the general public on a daily basis.Â

Reports to work each day on time, clean, neat, and in uniform.

Assists visiting public and staff in a courteous manner.Â

Assists other staff with their duties.Â

Supports and performs kitchen and cooking duties as directed by the first cook and food service director.Â

Maintains a clean and healthy work environment for food preparation, dishwasher duties, and serving. Sets up, cleans, and organizes food preparation and serving areas.Â

Prepares, transports, and serves a variety of foods to students, staff, and the public.Â

Problem-solves, anticipates, and prevents foreseeable problems.

Attends safety in-services, training, and school meetings as requested.Â

Performs other duties as assigned.
