POSITION TITLE:Â Â Â Â Â Food Service Substitute
FLSA:Â Â Â Â Â Non-Exempt
Â
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Ability to read and communicate in English
- Follow instructions and take initiative in performance of assigned tasks
- Ability to adapt to sudden and/or unpredictable changes in the day’s tasks or work flow
- Accurately count, weigh, and measure
- Physical ability to walk, stoop, stand, twist, reach, and squat on a constant basis
- Physical ability to use hands and fingers dexterously
- Ability to lift up to 40 pounds occasionally and up to 10 pounds frequently

ENVIRONMENTAL REQUIREMENTS:Â
- Must work in a hot, humid environment
- Must work in a cold, or below zero environment for short periodsÂ
- Must work in a noisy environment

REPORTS TO:Â Â Â Â Â Director of Food & Nutrition Services
Â
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Interact with staff, students, faculty, visitors, and co-workers in a pleasant and professional manner
- Complete tasks as assigned by the kitchen lead cook or in-charge individual
- Serve food according to recipe portion or as instructed
- Wash trays, pans, and other items using dish machine or three (3) compartment sink
- Disassemble serving line and clean serving area
- Assist in total kitchen clean up
- Perform cleaning tasks as assigned
- Performs all tasks in accordance with HACCP guidelines

OTHER JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Reports to work at scheduled time with proper uniform & appropriately groomed
- Adheres to all school district, building, and department rules & regulations
- Utilizes proper hand washing techniques
- Participates in meetings, training sessions & seminars as scheduled
- Completes other tasks as assigned
