Summary:
The Food Service Aide will be responsible for assisting with the preparation, serving, and clean-up of meals in a food service setting. They will work under the supervision of a food service manager or chef to ensure that all meals are prepared and served according to established standards.
Responsibilities:
– Assist with the preparation of meals, including chopping vegetables, preparing salads, and cooking basic dishes
– Serve meals to customers in a cafeteria or dining room setting
– Assist with cleaning dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment
– Maintain a clean and sanitary work environment, including wiping down counters, sweeping floors, and disposing of trash
– Follow all safety and sanitation guidelines, including wearing appropriate protective gear and using proper food handling techniques
– Assist with inventory management, including ordering supplies and stocking shelves
– Provide excellent customer service to all patrons, including answering questions and addressing concerns
Requirements:
– High school diploma or equivalent
– Previous experience in a food service setting preferred
– Ability to follow instructions and work in a fast-paced environment
– Strong communication and interpersonal skills
– Ability to stand for long periods of time and lift up to 50 pounds
– Familiarity with basic food preparation techniques and kitchen equipment
– Knowledge of safety and sanitation guidelines for food handling and preparation.
