Position Description:

The Family Partnership Lead reports to the Director of Equity and Inclusion in collaboration with building principals and is a key figure in building and strengthening family to school relationships and partnerships for families that have been historically marginalized.

Responsibilities: 

  • Collaborate and co-teach with classroom teachers and PLCSs to build family partnerships that leverage student/family strengths and knowledge and builds connections between families and school staff in an effort to develop relationships that support the child’s academic growth. (Focus on Restorative Practices, Culturally Responsive Teaching Practices, Asset Framing, etc.)
  • Serves as a resource to the building instruction leadership team by collaboratively creating and implementing a site improvement plan that addresses family partnership and asset framing, facilitate conversations and collect data around those goals, including the use of focus groups and non-evaluative observations and co-teaching in classrooms, to support, inform, and improve authentic inclusion and engagement of historically marginalized populations.
  • Provides collaboration and supports implementation of MTSS Tier 1 practices, to address the needs of the whole child, this includes being part of the student support and WRAP teams, and provides individualized student and family resources as needed to assist in building capacity.
  • Assists with planning and implementation for proactive relationship-building events (connected to their school site and level-transition events), and serves on the district Family Partnership Team and building equity team.

Training and Experience Requirements: 

  • Bachelor of Arts or Science preferred
  • Restorative Practice experience preferred
  • Lived experience as part of a historically marginalized community preferred
  • Valid teaching license preferred but not required.

  • Identifying and utilizing instructional resources and/or specialized resources
  • Managing classroom behavior
  • Developing assessment materials
  • Modifying lesson plans for specialized populations
  • Maintaining applicable student records
  • Applying local, state, and federal laws, rules, and regulations
  • Preparing and maintaining records and reports
  • Operating a computer and applicable software applications
  • Communication and interpersonal skills as applied to interaction with coworkers, supervisor, the general public, etc. sufficient to exchange or convey information and to receive work direction.
