Executive Director – Wright Technical Center
Wright Technical Center, located in Buffalo, Minnesota, seeks an individual with visionary leadership and strong administrative skills. The Wright Technical Center is a cooperative public high school established in 1972 to provide instruction in career, technical and alternative education. The WTC services eight-member school districts in both Wright and Sherburne counties. The eight local districts include: Annandale, Big Lake, Buffalo-Hanover-Montrose, Delano, Howard Lake-Waverly-Winsted, Maple Lake, Monticello, and St. Michael-Albertville. The WTC provides students with fourteen different career and technical program choices to meet their needs, skills and career interests. The salary will be in the range of $140,000.00 to $150,000.00 plus includes an excellent comprehensive benefits package. The final salary for the successful candidate will be negotiated and determined based upon proven experience, qualifications and meeting Board criteria.
Job Summary:
Performs complex professional and administrative work directing all programs, operations, activities, staff and facilities of Wright Technical Center, and related work as apparent or assigned. Work involves setting policies and goals under the direction of the Governing Board. Licensure and Experience:
- Minnesota-issued vocational director’s license or superintendent’s license required (or be in the process of acquiring one).
- Administrative experience is preferred.
- Career and technical education experience is preferred.
- Master's degree in educational administration, leadership, or related field and moderate experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Essential Functions:
- Reviews proposed budgets and prepares and submits proposed budgets to the Governing Board for approval.
- Attends and participates in various meetings.
- Reviews and prepares written reports and recommendations for the School Board and various boards and committees.
- Meets and confers with various citizen groups or individual citizens as well as with employees.
- Reviews and revises policies and procedures and recommends improvements and adjustments to the School Board.
- Performs liaison activities to other local, regional, state and federal agencies and organizations.
- Meets with the School Board, staff, government officials and others to establish goals and objectives, prepare reports, schedules and agenda, develop short and long-term operating and capital plans, develop funding sources and strategies.
Salary Range: $140,000.00 to $150,000.00 plus includes an excellent comprehensive benefits package
