Description
Job summary: Assist the TITLE 1 teacher with instructional groups, working directly and indirectly with students. Coordinate Family Engagement events including schoolwide events, grade level events, and classroom events. Supervise the parking lot during dismissal.
Responsibilities and tasks include:Â Â
Family Engagement/Volunteer Coordinator:
- Coordinate family events throughout the school year.
- Attend appropriate building-level meetings to report, plan and gather information as requested.
- Plan and organize vendors, performers, food or other requested resources.Â
- Assist in budget planning for events.
- Order and pick up food or coordinate delivery of food for events.
- Assist with the coordination and maintenance of existing volunteer programs by receiving requests and contacting resources.
- Aid staff and school community in determining needs regarding volunteer services.
- Assist in the planning and implementing of new volunteer programs as directed.
- Assist in identifying and recruiting potential volunteers.
- Arrange volunteer orientation and training as directed.
- Schedule volunteers and maintain records of service.
- Provide information about volunteer programs to staff and community.
Instructional:
- Instruct students in small groups using intervention materials.
- Work directly with students individually or in small groups academically.
- Assist students and teachers in large group instructional settings.
- Perform other duties as assigned by principal or designee.
Clerical:
- Parking lot supervision during dismissial.
Minimum qualifications include:Â
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Demonstrate ability to work with students.
- Computer and word processing experience helpful.
- Applicants meet the Highly Qualified requirement if they have:
- Two years of study at an institution of higher education; Minnesota’s standard; A minimum of 60 semester credits or the amount required to complete two years of full-time enrollment as determined by the institution attended OR
- An Associate’s (or higher) degree; Minnesota’s standard: An AA, AS, AAS, (or higher) degree OR
- Received a passing score on the ParaPro Assessment.
- Must be highly qualified (HQ) within 30 days from the date of employment https://education.mn.gov/MDE/dse/Para/Â
- District will pay for the exam and up to 10 hours of prep and exam time.

Work schedule: 7Â hrs/day: 5.5 hr/day Instructional Title 1, 1 hr/day Volunteer Coordinator, .5 hr/day Parking Lot
