Summer Only: June 13th prep day and June 16 – July 24 student days (no school June 19, June 30th – July 4th)
Monday-Thursday, 8:15 AM – 3:15 PM
Compensation: BA= $39.95/Hour, MA= $44.07/Hour
*This is not eligible for health and dental benefits unless a current contracted teacher through Wayzata Public Schools
Position Description:
The Summer Learning Academic Class Teacher will provide instruction in the areas of, but not limited to, English Language Arts and mathematics. The teacher is also responsible for creating a classroom environment which fosters learning and personal growth; to motivate pupils to develop skills, attitudes and knowledge needed to provide an excellent education, in accordance with each pupil’s ability; to establish effective rapport with pupils, parents; and to work collaboratively with other staff members.
Full day teachers will teach the AM academic component of Camp Explore and hands-on choice camps in the afternoon. Please submit your camp name/description in this application. See attached document for camp possibilities, or submit your own. Camp determinations will be finalized after staffing and student registration.
Qualifications:
- Must have a valid MN LicenseÂ
- Ideal candidates should have experience with multiple instructional designs and differentiated strategies that support diverse learners.
- Must have strong classroom management skills with the ability to maintain a positive learning environment.
- Must have the ability to build positive working relationships with students, parents, and staff.
- Must be proficient with current technology used to support communication, academics, and student progress monitoring.
