*We have an Educational Assistant assigned fulltime to every elementary classroom.

*Class sizes are 20 students in K-2 and 25 students in 3-5.
The Position: STEP Academy is hiring full time elementary teachers.
Preferred Qualifications:
Elementary teaching license (MN)
Experience working with students from diverse backgrounds
Experience working with ELL populations
Cultural competence
Minimum Qualifications:
Any teaching license and willingness to obtain an out of area designation
Bachelor's degree, ability to obtain a Tier 1 or 2 teaching license, and willingness to work toward a higher tier teaching license
An understanding, experience, and/or passion for working with elementary school students

STEP Academy is a K-12 destination charter school located in St. Paul and now Burnsville, Minnesota that serves a student body primarily made up of first generation Somali/East African students. STEP Academy ensures all students are nurtured and empowered to use their personal attributes and acquired knowledge to have the choice to participate in early college entrance through the Minnesota PSEO program. The school boasts a leadership team and school board that listen to and support their teachers and staff, believing that you are a person first and an educator second.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $42,000.00 – $55,000.00 per year
